Anti Doping Rules
Anti Doping
The International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) on its Foundation in 1991 embraced the principles of anti-doping and enshrined in its Competition Regulations an Anti-Doping Policy and Rules These measures have been implemented at IDBF World Championship Regattas ever since and revised, as and when required, to incorporate the Anti-Doping Rules for International Federations, promulgated by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
In carrying out its responsibilities and to ensure the proper respect for sports ethics, that all persons involved in the sport should show, the IDBF prohibits doping and obliges all competitors training for and competing in events organized or sanctioned by the IDBF; its Continental or Regional Federations or its Member Governing Associations to undergo medical tests and examinations and to accept the sanctions that will result from a violation of the published IDBF Anti- Doping Rules contained in the IDBF Anti-Doping Policy.
The basic principle of Anti-Doping Education is to preserve the spirit of sport from being undermined by doping.
An important part of Anti-Doping Education is to dissuade Competitors from using Prohibited Substances and Prohibited Methods. In this, the IDBF supports the WADA Outreach Programme, its aims and objectives.
